Immigration Paralegal

Led by David Garson, a certified specialist in Citizenship and Immigration Law, we are a team of dedicated professionals who work collaboratively to provide exceptional client service.

We are currently seeking to add a full-time Immigration Paralegal with at least five (5) years of experience in immigration work. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and organizational skills, coupled with a genuine passion for immigration law.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective, timely, and practical advice and support to clients and other team members in a fast-paced environment;
• Prepare a range of immigration applications, alongside lawyers, including applications for work permits, visas, and permanent residence;
• Effectively track key deadlines, application status, and permit expiries;
• Respond to client communications; and
• Manage client files and documents in an organized, efficient manner.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution;
• A minimum of 5 years experience in Canadian immigration law, ideally working with corporate clients (US immigration law experience is a plus);
• Extensive experience preparing Canadian immigration applications, including for temporary work permits at the port of entry and visa office (ex: intra-company transfers, CUSMA, CETA, Benefit to Canada, LMIA, open work permits) and permanent residence (ex: Express Entry, PNP, Family Class);
• Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal);
• The ability to prioritize competing demands and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining the highest level of professionalism at all times;
• Fully proficient in Adobe and Microsoft Office 365;
• Excellent customer service skills; and
• High-quality organization and file management skills.
