Canadian Immigration Lawyers  Assisting with Express Entry Applications

Express Entry manages federal applications for three specific immigration programs and allows skilled workers and tradespeople to apply for permanent residence based on the contributions they could make to the Canadian economy. Some Provincial Nominee Programs also have application streams that are connected to the Express Entry program.

Express Entry is a competitive invitation-based program. Each of the three programs requires work experience prior to applying but differ in other ways. At Garson Immigration Law, we have extensive experience helping clients successfully immigrate through the Express Entry program into Canada. We assist clients with all aspects of the application process, including compiling the necessary information and supporting documents, and we submit the application on our clients’ behalf.

Federal Express Entry Programs

There are different program options available to applicants applying for Express Entry based on their unique skill sets.

Canadian Experience Class

Applicants applying for Express Entry under the Canadian Experience Class must have worked at least one year in Canada in the three years preceding their application. Applicants must meet certain language communications levels, and their skills must qualify them for managerial or professional roles, or a skilled trade. There is no minimum educational requirement under this program, however both foreign and local educational achievements will advance an applicant’s competitiveness in the Express Entry pool for consideration to receive an Invitation to apply. Lastly, applicants must not plan to reside in Quebec if approved.

Federal Skilled Worker Program

Applicants applying for Express Entry under the Federal Skilled Worker Program do not require Canadian work experience but must meet a minimum points threshold based on six selection factors, including age, education, language, skilled work experience, existing job offers and adaptability. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate they have sufficient financial funds to settle in Canada, or have a valid job offer in Canada.

Federal Skilled Trades Program

The Federal Skilled Trades program is available to those in the following trades:

  • Industrial, electrical and construction work;
  • Maintenance and equipment operation;
  • Supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production;
  • Processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors or central control operators;
  • Chefs and cooks; and
  • Butchers and bakers.

When applying for Express Entry, it is important to include any and all information that could advance your standing in the applicant pool. At Garson Immigration Law, our immigration lawyers are exceptionally skilled at pinpointing the aspects of an applicant’s background that will best position their application for approval.
